Sharpless & Watts worked with tiles and mosaics as well as wrought iron and brass work. In 1897, they held 25 stores in center city Philadelphia, including 1522 Chestnut Street; 1520, 1522 and 1527 Sansom Street; 1521 and 1523 Moravian Street.
