Frederick W. Dreher, Sr. and
C. Wharton Churchman remained in association after the dissolution of
Dreher, Churchman, Paul & Ford. In 1926 they contracted with James H. Kays to begin what would become Suburban Square at Montgomery and Anderson Avenues in Ardmore, PA. This early effort at a suburban shopping center gain the firm, particularly Dreher, some distinction as pioneers in shopping center design. (Later Dreher would become president of the Suburban Company.) The firm endured until 1939 and was succeeded by
Frederick W. Dreher & Son.
