Stephen A. Cloud received an award from Spring Garden Institute in 1890 for the "Best Outline from the Cast", but he then received his B. S. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1894. By 1899 he was employed in the office of
Cope & Stewardson, according to an office photograph published in the 1923 T-Square Club exhibition catalog and later he worked as an assistant draftsman for the Board of Public Education (1909/1910).
Cloud was active in the T-Square Club, serving on the library committee in 1899/1900.
