A. Hensel Fink was born in Gary, WV, and received his architectural education at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, where he earned his A.B. in Architecture in 1926. He worked with Philadelphia firm
Sundt & Wenner from 1926 to 1934, when the name was changed to acknowledge his partnership (
Sundt, Wenner & Fink). (According to his AIA application, he also worked as a designer for
Thomas & Martin from 1932-1933.) From 1936 through 1947, when
Bruce Wenner died, Fink partnered in
Wenner & Fink. At that point he organized his own firm, which later became
A. Hensel Fink & Associates. Fink died in West Virginia.
Fink joined the AIA in 1938 and was a member of the Philadelphia Chapter, attaining emeritus status in 1978. He served as Head of the Department of Architecture at Drexel Institute, beginning in 1928 and as the Jury Foreman and Author of Problems for the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design, beginning in 1930. He also contributed drawings to Elbert M. Conover's Church Builder (1948) and John R. Scotford's When You Build Your Church (1955).
