Born in Pittsburgh to Tattersall and Ellen (Ward) Ingham, Charles T. Ingham studied at the University of Pennsylvania in the Class of 1897. He then associated with Peabody & Stearns (1897-1901), Rutan & Russell (1901-1911), and entered into a partnership with William Boyd as Ingham & Boyd in 1911.
Ingham joined the AIA in 1913. He was an instructor in the Architectural School of the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1917, a member of the Pennsylvania State Building Code Commission in 1920, and the City of Pittsburgh Code Commission from 1920 to 1924. He served as president of the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners of Architects and was a member of the Commission on Church Architecture for the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Protestant Episcopal Church.
