Born: 5/20/1897, Died: 10/1983

Joseph F. Booton, the son of John Beverly Booton, came to Philadelphia in 1920 to study at the University of Pennsylvania after having attended Fenger High School in Chicago, IL. He earned a certificate of proficiency at Penn in 1924, winning the Stewardson Scholarship that year. He is presumed to have returned to Chicago to practice, as his listings in the American Architects' Directory give an address there. Booton joined the national AIA in 1936.
