Penrose K. Spohn, the son of Harrison M. Spohn, attended Wernersville High School in Wernersville, PA before attending Franklin & Marshall College. He went on to earn a B. Litt. from Columbia University's School of Journalism before studying architect at the University of Pennsylvania. There, he completed a B. Arch. with honors in 1952. Spohn practiced in Wernersville, where he died in 1994.
