Born: 6/18/1895, Died: 1965 Walter Lewis Schultze was born in Philadelphia and received his education in the Philadelphia public schools. He apprenticed with Price & McLanahan (1912-1916), then served as a draftsman for John T. Windrim (1916). In 1916 he began working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, but World War I interrupted this employment in 1917. Schultze served in France with the U. S. Army from 1917 to 1919. When he returned to Philadelphia, he became a designer for Ritter & Shay (1920-1933). From 1938 to 1940 he worked for Day & Zimmermann, but it was during his return to Verus T. Ritter in 1940 to 1942 that he, Ernest J. Baader, and E. Stanley Young decided to organize their own firm under the name Baader, Young & Schulze.
