Architect, planner, and urban designer David A. Crane was born in Mutoto in what was then the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Education: Bachelor of Science, Georgia Institute of Technology, 1950; Master's in City Planning, Harvard Graduate School of Design, 1952. Awarded a Lehman fellowship, 1951; Rumrill scholar, 1952.
Experience: Own firm, 1966. Succeeded by David A. Crane & Associates, 1970; succeeded in turn by David A. Crane & Partners (later DACP, Inc.) in 1974; DACP Associates, 1980-1984.
Joined the national AIA, 1968; member of Philadelphia Chapter. Member, AIA's Urban Design Committee, 1969.
