Charles E. Dagit, son of prominent Catholic architect Henry D. Dagit, was born in Philadelphia, graduated from West Philadelphia High School, and received his B. S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1925. Following graduation he entered his father's firm, Henry D. Dagit & Sons, a name which was revised in 1960 to Henry D. Dagit & Son. In 1970, along with his own son, Charles E. Dagit, Jr., and Peter M. Saylor, he organized Dagit-Saylor.
