Born: 1/18/1894, Died: 12/1967 Born in New York City, Albert E. Westover, Jr., graduated from Drexel Institute in 1915 and received his Certificate of Proficiency in Architecture in 1917 from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1919 he received a further certificate from the Beaux Arts Institute of Design and was awarded a medal by the Societe des Architects Diplomes by the French Government. He also placed third in the Paris Prize competition. From 1917 to 1919 he worked with his father Albert E. Westover and then launched his own office.Professionally Westover was an associate of Boyd, Abel & Gugert, George I. Lovatt, and Victor Abel. In the 1930s he briefly partnered with Richard Kerns, and sometime before 4 October 1950 Westover had been associated with L. Adrian Doe in L. Adrian Doe and Associates; however, his letter of resignation can be found in the Doe Collection, Athenaeum of Philadelphia. Like his father, Westover had some expertise in theatre design (E. F. Albee Theatare, Providence, RI, 1919), but he also engaged in considerable design in regard to housing (Wynnewoods Housing Development, 1920-28; Poplar Street Housing Project, 1939-40). Westover served on the T-Square Club education committee in 1921/22 and 1922/23.
