Born: 1863, Died: 3/14/1940

Attorney James A. Wetmore began his federal career as a court stenographer in 1885 before receiving his degree in 1896 from George Washington University Law School. He was employed by James Knox Taylor primarily as an organizer and record-keeper; but, following the resignation of Oscar Wenderoth in 1915, Wetmore became Acting Supervising Architect for the U.S. Treasury, a position which he maintained for some 20 years. Wetmore retired from the Supervising Architect's Office in 1934.
