Charles H. Muhlenberg, Jr., was born in Reading, PA. He first entered the University of Wisconsin (1918-1919), but later transferred to his father's alma mater the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received his B.S. in Architecture in 1922. After working as a draftsman for Clinton & Russell in New York, he joined his father's office, Muhlenberg Bros. in Reading in 1923.
In addition to memberships in the American Institute of Architects and its Philadelphia Chapter, Muhlenberg served on the Reading City Planning Commission (1954-1955).
