With an office in the Architects Building in Philadelphia, this office combined the talents of W. Pope Barney and Roy Banwell, both graduates of the University of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia office of Day & Klauder. Barney brought to the partnership his many connections to the Church of Christian Science, and the office designed many churches of that denomination. Banwell appears to have specialized in school architecture, and the firm benefited from that connection as well.
