Successors to the short-lived Sloan, Balderston & Young, Sloan & Balderston continued in operation after Young's disappearance and through 1883 when Sloan relocated to Raleigh, NC, although according to Sloan's biographer two North Carolina buildings (Craven County jail and the Craven County Courthouse) are credited to the partners, rather than to Sloan alone.
