Born in Chelsea, NJ, Henry S. Berg received his B.Arch from the University of Pennsylvania in 1934, graduating with honors. From 1941 to 1943 he served as senior architect for the Farm Security Administration and then as Chief Architect for the Regulations Office of the Veterans Administration (1946-1948). In 1949 he established his own office and developed a specialty in hotels and apartment houses. Chief among his works are the Jefferson Manor Apartments (Philadelphia, 1956), Regency House (Philadelphia, 1958), Wyndmoor Estates (Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, 1960), and Crittenden Court Apartments (Philadelphia, 1961).
