Born in Whitehall, PA, son of Joaquim and Anna (Kutchera) Ferreira.

Education: Studied Architectural Interior Design, New York School of Fine & Applied Arts, 1949-1952; Attended Parsons School of Design, 1952; Pennsylvania State University, 1953-1954; University of Pennsylvania, 1967.

Experience: Partner, Bond & Miller Associates, Allentown, 1960-1970; Partner, Lovelace & Spillman, Bethlehem, 1952-1960; J. Ferreira Associates, Allentown, 1970-1993.

Joined national AIA, 1963; member of Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter; retired in 1993.

Community service: 1979-82, president of the Northampton Historical Society and Northampton Exchange Club, 1985-88; director of the Northampton Area Chamber of Commerce, 1978-80; and chairman of the Northampton Planning Commission, 1972-88.
