C. Jones Buehler was born in Philadelphia and studied drafting at the Fanklin Institute, earning a diploma there in 1921, and attended the La France Art Institute in 1927-1929 and Rochester University in 1936. By 1945, he was the chief designer in the office of Silverman & Levy, remaining there until 1947, when he founded his own firm. He also practiced in the partnership of Buehler & Webber at an unknown period before 1956. Buehler had presumably retired by 1971, as he is listed with emeritus status in the directory of the Philadelphia Chapter of the AIA that year.
Buehler was a member of the national AIA, and of the Philadelphia Chapter, chairing the United Fund and yearbook committees in 1954. He chaired the public relations and nominations committee in 1955. Buehler also served
