Edwin Arthur Yeo was born in Philadelphia, the son of Samuel and Sarah M. Yeo. After graduating from Northeast High School in 1895, he entered the office of Amos J. Boyden, where he remained until 1899, finding employment in that year with Horace Wells Sellers, with whom he remained until 1921. In 1921, Yeo launched his own firm, with an office at 225 South Sydenham Street. In 1926 he moved to 1520 Locust Street and remained there through 1930.
Yeo joined the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1920 and was also a member of the T-Square Club. According to the lists of T-Square officers found in their Yearbooks, Yeo was director of the atelier and chair of the house committee in 1921/22.
