Although several William S. Allen listings appear in the Philadelphia city directories as early as 1899, William S. Allen, architect, first appears in 1905. Subsequently he appears sporadically through 1916, with the only partnership noted with Charles J. Brooke from 1905 to 1911, with offices at 14 South Broad Street.
