This firm appears in the Philadelphia city directories for one year only (1875); however, according to Samuel Sloan's biographyer it was actually in operation from 1865 to 1883. The firm is owned by builder Mark Balderston, brother of architect Charles Balderston. Balderston was associated with several other firms, including Balderston & Albertson before 1875 and Balderston & Hutton after 1875.
