Reading architect Howard I. Eiler spent some three years apprenticing with G. L. Gerhard (1900-1903) before he became a draftsman with A. A. Ritcher (1904-1914). From 1915 to 1920 this firm functioned as A. A. Ritcher & Howard I. Eiler, associate architects, but from 1921 to 1931, it became Ritcher & Eiler. After this date, Eiler maintained his own firm in Reading.
