Born: 7/31/1909

Joseph W. Hoban, Jr., was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and earned his Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1932 (along with his twin, James Leon Hoban). By 1939 he was an architect with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (1939-1940) and followed that with positions with Whitman, Requardt & Smith, Engineers (1941), and James Minick (1942) of Harrisburg. Hoban saw active service during World War II in the Navy; but by 1945 he had joined Robert A. Eyerman in an office in Wilkes-Barre; and this relationship became official in 1962 when Robert A. Eyerman-Joseph W. Hoban, Associate Architects, was establshed in Wilkes-Barre.
