Born: 2/1/1928 Paul Monaghan, Jr., son of an emminent Philadelphia architect specializing in Catholic commissions, received his B.S. in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1952. After graduation he worked as a draftsman for Howell Lewis Shay for several years. In 1954 he established his own firm, but in 1960 took on a partner and revised the name of the firm to Monaghan & Forrest. In 1969 he returned to individual practice. For a time, according to the office's publicity brochure, he associated with Alexander M. Ewing & Assocs.Monaghan joined the AIA in 1952.
