Born: 1/12/1894, Died: 4/1971 Richard W. Mecaskey was born in Philadelphia to Dr. John Wesley Mecaskey. He received his Certificate of Proficiency from the University of Pennsylvania in 1915. For many years he was a member of the office of Boyd, Abel & Gugert but launched his own firm around 1930, with a specialty in residential architecture.Mecaskey joined the AIA in 1925. He also served as the president of the Octavia Hill Association
