Established in 1898 as successors to Frederick Law Olmsted, Olmsted Brothers & Company expanded the range and number of commissions associated with the name Olmsted. Ably run by John Charles Olmsted (1852-1920) and Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., this office was involved in the design of several public areas and private estate landscapes in the Philadelphia area, including Washington Square on South Sixth Street.
