Son of a prominent builder, Allen B. Rorke, Jr. continued the family business with his brother Franklin M. Rorke. He appears in the Philadelphia city directories from 1892 through 1926, only skipping a few years in that time. For several of his listings, he cites himself as either clerk or contractor; however, for most of the appearances in the Philadelphia city directories Allen B. Rorke, Jr., lists no occupation.
