Born in Oil City, PA, Donald S. Wason received his B.S. in 1934 from Muskingum College, followed by a B.Arch in 1942 from Ohio State University and a Masters in City Planning in 1951 from Illinois Institute of Technology. From 1945 to 1952 he functioned as job captain for Holibird & Root in Chicago but then moved to Delaware, where he joined the firm established by E. William Martin. By 1961 that firm had been revised to Martin & Wason to recognize Wason's role. In 1965 Wason organized Wason, Tingle, & Brust, still in Wilmington, DE.
