Although overshadowed by the career of her husband Alfred Bendiner, Elizabeth S. Bendiner was among a small group of women who studied architecture at the University of Pennsylvania in the 1920s. She attended the University from February, 1923 to February, 1927, gaining her B.F.A. in 1927, a time when women were not accorded the architectural degree.
In the role of "assistant", Elizabeth Bendiner accompanied her husband on the University of Pennsylvania Expedition to Tikal, Guatemala in 1960.
