Los Angeles, CA native William J. Creighton, Jr. attended Los Angeles Polytechnic High School before studying architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed a B. S. in Architecture in 1915, followed by an M. S. Arch. in 1917. He was an instructor at Penn during his graduate work and in 1920-1921. After leaving Penn, Creighton moved to New York City, where he worked as a job captain for McKim, Mead & White from 1920 to 1927. He established his own office in 1930, and in 1945 relocated to Atlanta, GA.
