Roger B. Lewis, the son of Hilda and Lewis J. Lewis, trained at Pennsylvania State University, and at Columbia University, where he earned an M. Arch. He was an associate in the firm of Bower & Fradley before being made a partner in its successor, Bower Lewis Thrower. After his premature death from leukemia, the firm has retained his name in the partnership.
Lewis taught at the Philadelphia College of Art, at Temple University, and at Drexel University. He was a member of the AIA and of the Philadelphia Chapter, serving on its board.
