Successors to Schmidt, Garden and Martin (fl. ca. 1896 - 1926), this Chicago architectural firm was established by Richard Ernest Schmidt (1865-1958), Hugh Mackie Gordon Garden (1873-1961), and Carl Anthony Erikson (1888-1958). Their design specialty included both health and educational facilities, and in Philadelphia the office was particularly active on the University of Pennsylvania campus.
