Lincoln H. Smith matriculated with the Class of 1898 at the University of Pennsylvania and is variously listed in Philadelphia city directories as artist, architect, draftsman, contracting engineer, and mechanical engineer. He is specifically noted as an architect in 1900-1901, 1903-1905, 1908-1910, 1912-1916.

When the Book of the School was published in 1934, Smith was listed as deceased.
