  • Publications on Kahn's life and work are numerous and continue to be produced regularly. Selected and annotated bibliographies to 1991 by David B. Brownlee, Shilpa Mehta and Peter S. Reed are included in David Brownlee and David DeLong, In the Realm of Architecture (New York: Rizzoli, 1991), pp. 432-439. This is an excellent, thorough source on Kahn's life and work.

  • Carter Wiseman is the first biographer to publish Kahn's family birth name, in Louis I. Kahn: Beyond Time and Style (New York and London: W. W. Norton, 2007). Wiseman credits Susan Behr, the producer of Kahn's son Nathaniel's film My Architect: a Son's Journey, and others, with discovering key details about Kahn's early life.

  • Since 1991, a number of monographs on individual projects have appeared. Among these are Susan Solomon's Louis I. Kahn's Trenton Jewish Community Center (New York: Princeton Architectural Press, 2000), an investigation of a key early commission, commonly called the Trenton Bath Houses. In addition, Michael J. Lewis's essay on Kahn's early career included in Eugene J. Johnson and Lewis's Drawn from the Source: The Travel Sketches of Louis I. Kahn (Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 1996) analyzes Kahn's early career insightfully and in detail.

  • Examples of Kahn's student work can be found in the following citations (this is a partial list): American Architect v.125, n.2440 (27 February 1924) American Architect v.125, n.2443 (9 April 1924) American Architect v.125, n.2445 (7 May 1924) American Architect v.125, n.2455 (24 September 1924)
