MARC Description:
Linfoot created the rendering in 1885, subsequently lithographed by Robert A. Welke at 178 William St., N.Y., and copyrighted by W.T. Comstock in 1886. The images is a perspective rendering of the entrance hall of a country house. A fireplace is at the end of the room, with the grand stair hall to its left. Several other entrances to the hall are shown. Included in the foreground, in the bottom right corner of the image, is a women bending down to a little girl with a dog. Accompanying materials include b&w and sepia colored photographs, slides & negatives, ca. 1983, evidentally taken to document the existance of the original drawing, still located with a family member. These images include full shots, details of portions of the drawing, and one showing the framed image hanging above an unidentified fireplace. One of the two prints, copies of the drawing, included here has a note as to the location of the original drawing, signed "BSL 6/83".
