Built, 1765. Former residence of Samuel Powel. Mayor of Philadelphia, 1775-1789. This Manison, where Washington was a frequent guest has been purchased by the Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks and will be preserved as a historic monument. (Before restoration)
