National Archives, RG 121, Letters Sent: M. Blair to Gridley J. F. Bryant, April 21, 1862. This letter appoints Bryant as consulting architect for the Post Office and Court Building in Philadelphia. The letter indicates that Bryant will design the plans and specifications, as well as provide construction supervision. In the same letter John Fraser was appointed local superintendent of the works under Bryant's general direction.
