In 1867, this school formed the Hollingsworth School on 15th & Locust Street along with students from the Girls' Secondary School (South Broad & Walnut Sts.), Boys' Secondary School (American Protestant Association's Hall on Locust Street), and the Boys' Primary School (Locust Street near 12th Street).
This building was within the eighth section: "The boundaries of the Eighth Ward of the City of Philadelphia, which comprises the Eighth Section of the First School District of Pennsylvania, are Seventh Street and the Schuylkill River, Chestnut and Spruce Streets," (Curtis, p. 269).
